They say, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. In this case, “One woman’s trash is now my treasure”. This past year I have become seriously obsessed with thrifting. So much so, that I believe I have mastered my very own techniques for this thrifting life.

I’ve had a few people ask me how I find such cool stuff at the thrift store. So I decided to share my techniques for thrifting.

.1 Pick a day that you have several hours to spare. Believe me time and patience are key when it comes to thrifting. Thrift stores are not always the most organized (some are) and they usually hold lots and lots of items.

.2 Rock your most comfortable sneakers and sweat pants. Most likely you will be on your feet for a couple of hours digging through the different clothes and items to find your treasure. Therefore, you want to be comfortable, so you don’t become annoyed and easily tired. IMG_0175

.3 Go for pieces you probably won’t find at your nearest mall or favorite clothing store. When I go thrifting my first stop is the vintage section. You will be surprised at how many goodies there are in the vintage section.

.4 Go into the men’s section. Ladies, finding oversized men’s shirt that I can easily turn into a dress makes my heart skip a beat.

.5 Try on your items. You do not want have a closet full of used clothes you can not fit or have some damage to them.
